The Perfect Morning

I was pulled off the road, leaning against the car and sipping a cup of coffee when I took this picture. It was shortly before 7:30 and a little cool. The temperature was nearing fifty with the high for the day to be in the upper 60’s. The sky was clear and blue. The corn was nearing harvest. The barn had seen better days but was still functional. The trees and the mountain in the background just added to the morning.

I leaned against the car, took a sip of coffee, and realized it’s November! This is almost unheard of. Yes, it was the perfect morning. I also realized I was going to be late for a meeting.

Sometimes perfect mornings last just a few minutes.

This is a great photo. At least you got to enjoy the view briefly, before you went off to your meeting!

Only a few minutes - but it was worth it, wasn't it? A beautiful picture to look at and let that perfect moment feeling warm you again

I really enjoyed your pretty Autumn photo. The barn deserves another shot. November mornings are to dilly-dally.
You are born to be late
..
I'm a little hazy on what I wrote last night too. We know everything won't be a bed of roses for the family (us, them, the U.S.A). I have faith that the little car (played by the U.S.A) will last.

Exquisite! The very essence of that perfect morning shines through. It makes me pine for the farm I once thought I'd own... so, I'll settle for suburbia and photos like these! You're having a gorgeous autumn./Deb

Ahhhh, lovely morning and lovely photo.
Sounds great all except for the coffee.
Yucky coffee!! It's not as bad as mayonnaise.
Perfection rarely lasts very long, but it's okay to relish it when it happens.
I wish you some more perfect moments to balance out all those not-so-perfect ones.

:-)

Beautiful morning. I hope you finished that cup of coffee and savored the sight that you shared with us. There will always be meeting, but sceneries like this are constantly changing. Thank you. Lisa

I'm glad you stopped and were late for the meeting. I don't even know what the meeting was about, but I know you made the right decision to take in that view.

It's been exceptionally warm here this autumn.

So many of us who live in places where we can stop and take a moment to savor The Moment just whiz by and don't even notice. They are so absorbed in the past moments or worrying about the future moments - they miss the present. My brother drives on a beltway and 2 interstates to get to his job with mostly traffic and barriers to see and not a chance to take time to smell the coffee and look at the beauty around him. Sad. I have been so blessed that I never had to live like that. And it is good that you realize how lucky you are. You were probably in better shape to go to the meeting because you did stop.
Thanks for sharing the moment.
