Shirts

Most of you probably know Cliff and Marilyn were in town this past weekend. Char and I had a great time with those two – we always do. A lot of fun, a lot of laughs, a lot of good food. As an added bonus, Cliff and I solved many world problems.

After two days, Cliff gets antsy. He’s not use to looking out the window and seeing houses much less people. On top of that, he has a condition that causes him to go weak in the knees if he walks on to much concrete. So, given his ‘condition’, their stay was about the right amount of time for Cliff. The rest of us could have used a few more days or . . . weeks.

They are great, great friends. The type of friends who would give you the shirt off their back. In fact, Cliff tried. After they left we found the shirt in the guest room. We boxed it up and mailed it back to him.

Thanks for the visit.

You know, I felt an odd unexplainable surge of relief toward the end of this weekend, that must have been when you and Cliff had everything wrapped up for us! Thank you! Now could you get to work on the rest of the world's problems after which I have a list of a few personal problems, not mine, I'm okay, I was thinking of others. I like to be generous that way.

Good morning, Ralph, won't talk or ask about the shirt (like did you wash it, would it have fit you or made a sleeping shirt, didn't you like the color, would it have rotted if you'd have waited a few months till you 'brothers' visit again, etc.).

I'm dense this morning, I sure don't get whatEV meant. But it wasn't for me anyway, rather an inside thing.

That Cliff is a very generous fellow. So is Marilyn. Each helped Mom and Dad soooooo much, they thought the world of those guys. It wasn't the expensive things but talk, visits, little items, AND RECOGNITION of them as little old but valuable persons.

Cliff has a condtion, yes. It could be cured if you would move south so he could go golfing or fishing while you're working. That's how my BIL tolerates his visits here with us.

Thanks for the kind words Ralph. Almost everything you and your lovely wife did was above and beyond the call of duty. Well except for the marching band... I have come to expect that.
I appreciate you sending the shirt back. I was afraid you two might use it for a night shirt but you probably don't like sleeping that close anymore.

I saw Cliff this morning at our Governing Board Meeting. We talked about you, were your ears burning. In fact we talked about you last month after the meeting! You are always on our minds, you are always one out minds!

Ralph,
I'd say he's too long in the tooth to make a city boy out of Cliff. He's just a country boy at heart...with a blog.

Cliff just wants to make sure you dress well.
I know you had a great time together as you always do. In my book, you all are terrific folks!
Cliff is back in the open spaces with less houses and almost no concrete.
