Colorful Colorado

I am declaring this Colorful Colorado week on Homespun Headlines. Last week I had the opportunity to travel around the state. The colors were spectacular. While I am not sure how we came up with the slogan, 'Colorful Colorado', it most likely had something to do with the Fall colors.

The photos I will be posting throughout the week are untouched. I did absolutely nothing to enhance them in anyway. On the other hand, these photos were taken with a 3.2 mega pixtels camera, which does not do them justice.

All the pictures were taken off major highways in my travels. I will do my best to let you know where they were taken. The one above was taken in Glenwood Canyon approximately 170 miles west of Denver.

Hope you enjoy.

I'm jealous! Most of our trees' leaves turn yellow and fall off in mid-August from drought and heat. There are very few leaves left to make it look like fall. Not that we have that many trees here anyway...

Thanks for your comments. Yes, Colorado is a great place to live this time of year because of the colors, not the traffic.

Cliff - Yeah it's tough. After thirty years of doing this job I still consider seeing Fall colors one of the perks. I'll be out.

Dan - You're in big trouble.
Went to meeting today and in the idle chit chat before it started I mentioned this was Colorful Colorado week. Someone asked who declared it. I replied me. Someone else asked who gave me the right to do that. I replied, me. There were several momemnts of awkward silence before I started the meeting.
So what's the point? I declared it I need to fulfill it. Otherwise my next declaration won't stand. Secondly, when you work with trees you kind of like leafs and stuff like that.
Things will be back to normal next week, Dan.
