24 Hours

A lot can happen in the span of twenty-four hours. The following two pictures were taken twenty-four hours apart.

This is the last rose blossom of the season. This yellow rose started blooming early in the spring and continued through the summer months. You might notice the grass in the background is still a deep, dark green. This picture was taken last Saturday.

This is the same rose twenty-four hours later. You might notice in the background all that @#$% white stuff. It’s called snow. Yep, we got our first snow on Sunday.

As you can imagine I am pretty excited. The thought of shoveling the driveway, scraping car windows, trying to stay warm, and of course, paying the heating bill is just thrilling me. It’s going to be a long winter.

Ralph,
You need to move to Indiana. It was in the 80s here last weekend (that never happens).

When I saw the snow on TV that you guys out there got, I immediately thought of you. We are still enjoying the warmth back here in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Hey, maybe that will be the only snow that you get this year [crossing fingers].
The rose is beautiful.

I'll stay right where I am, thank you! In Cleveland, this past week, we've had our ups and downs for weather, from 50's to 70's. But, since I'm still paying in the 30's for gas, I'd like to keep it that way as LONG as possible. You can keep that white crap!

I can't see the first picture. I can only see the one with the snow. Oh....maybe it won't be as bad as last year Ralph. But what can you expect living in CO? Just learn to love it!

I saw on the news that you got some of that nasty white stuff. So sorry, but sure glad it isn't in my yard yet. It's in the mountains though so it won't be long. Your lovely yellow rose looks so sad with the icy snow in her face but she looks brave too.

We can't get rain, let alone snow. It's just wrong.

You can send some of that stuff our way if you like.
